Sir Thomas Holland while establishing the Charnockite Series, in Southern India has not doubt definitely cautioned against the indiscriminate usage of the term to any other hypersthene granulites outside that petrographic province; but still we have sufficient justification to include among the Charnockites, the hypersthene granulites of Mysore, since they are notherly terminations and extensions of the larger Charnockite, masses in the type areas which he has so very lucidly descirbed.
